Rejected?...don't worry- رفضت؟ ... لا تقلق

You study for 12 years looking forward to the day when you graduate, you are full of passion, ambition, goals and innocence until you meet post graduation. Only a few of students go that extra mile in preparation for University and if you were lucky your school had a great guidance person that made sure you are ready for undergraduate.

This year, hundreds of students in the UAE were left with limited choices this year as they received news of being rejected from public universities & colleges. Whereas colleges have raised their admission requirements (in specific CEPA English scores).

Now, the burning question running in every one of these students minds definitely has been: "Now what?" - "What can we do now?" - "What are our options?"


 EducateAE, lists below the main options that any student may choose to pursue if he/she is planning on getting a college degree:-

1- IELTS/TOFEL preparation courses.

The fact that nearly all Universities in the UAE require the IELTS or TOFEL exam makes one this an inevitable MUST. To be able to enter a University and get a college degree you MUST pass an english examination which applies as basic standards for both private and public Universities.

-Spend the next couple of months enrolled in an IELTS or TOEFL course (as most Universities prefer this exam), pass the exam with the scored needed to enter college.
 (IELTS: 5.0)

-Reapply to the University of your choice for the second semester (starting January) with an IELTS certificate that certifies a passing score and by that you would have met their requirements of admission.

2- Vocational education.

Vocational education is a new area in town which focuses on providing technical and vocational degrees and diplomas that qualify you to work in your selected area of study. The requirements to enter a vocational college is much less than deciding to enter a normal college/University and their degrees require less time to achieve then a bachelors degree.

3- Private universities.

Private education may not be a choice for many but there are a number of them and many are an option for students that could not get an admission approval to public Universities. However, many do have the same English requirements that public universities request but there are some that might allow a student to enter in a foundation/English program.


There is one thing that you must keep in mind always even when you are being faced with constant rejections….. When there is a will there is a way!

ماذا يمكننا أن نفعل الآن؟ ما هي الخيارات المتاحة لنا؟ هو السؤال الأكثر أهمية لهؤلاء الطلاب في هذه الايام وعلى مشارف سنه أكاديمية جديده.. EducateAE، يسرد الخيارات الرئيسية المتوفرة للطلبة الذين لا زالوا يخططون للحصول على شهادة جامعية.

1 - دورات إعداد IELTS / TOFELالحقيقة...إن ما يقرب جميع الجامعات في الدولة تتطلب احتياج امتحان الأيلتس أو التوفل...فالنجاح في هذه الامتحانات أمر لا بد منه... اقضي الأشهر المقبلة في دورة أيلتس (بما أن تفضل معظم الجامعات هذا الامتحان) فذلك قد يزيد من فرصك لدخول جامعة الفصل المقبل (شهر اثنان). معظم الجامعات تتطلب مجموع ٥.٠ في الأيلتس لتخطي متطلبات القبول.

2 – التسجيل في كليات التعليم المهني
التعليم المهني هو مجال جديد للكثير..تركز الكليات المهنية في التعليم التقني والمهني و تجهز تؤهل طلابها للعمل في مجالهم المختار. متطلبات الدخول لكليات التدريب المهني هو أقل بكثير من متطلبات الجامعات والكليات و تتطلب وقتا أقل لتحقيق المؤهل عن درجة البكالوريوس.

3 - الجامعات الخاصة
التعليم الخاص قد لا يكون خيار للكثير ولكن هناك عدد من الفرص في الجامعات الخاصة... وبالذات للطلاب الذين تم رفض قبولهم في الجامعات الحكومية..ومع ذلك، العديد من تلك الجامعات تقبل الطلاب في برامج تأسيسيه قبل الدخول للبرنامج الدراسي.
هناك شيء واحد يجب أن نضعه في عين الاعتبار دائم عند مواجهة أي عائق: ..... عندما يكون هناك إرادة تكون هناك وسيلة!
